Carol McCartney Obituary

Carol A. McCartney, 80, of 435 Main St. Rouseville, PA. died at 1:50 P.M. Thursday June 28, 2018.

Born June 30, 1937 in Tippery, PA., she was the daughter of the late Charles E. & Grace E. Croupe Hogue

Carol was a 1955 graduate of Cranberry High School.

She graduated in 1959 from Clarion University with a degree in Elementary Education.

On June 27, 1959 she married Donald G. McCartney and he survives.

Carol had worked many years as a teacher for the Oil City Area School District.

She was a longtime active member of Heckathorn United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, from the age of 16 until February of this year.

Carol also was involved in children's fellowship at the church, was the Vacation Bible School Director and a trustee at the church. She enjoyed doing crafts.

Carol was a member of Morris Chapter #14, Order of Eastern Star, Rouseville, a member of the Red Hat Society and past member of Queen Esther Shrine #49

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons

Gregory A. McCartney of Rouseville

Vance E. McCartney & his companion Ann Frankenberger of Oil City

two grandchildren

Alyson Brooke Fehrenbach & her husband Damien of Collinsville, OK

Zachary Alan McCartney of Oil City

two sisters

Pauline E. Hogue of Seneca

Kathy J. Johnson & her husband Mike of Venus

a brother

Wayne R. Hogue & his wife Sue of Seneca

a sister -in-law

Trudy Hogue of Venus

a brother-in-law

Hugh McCartney & his wife Anna of North East, PA.

As well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers

Richard E. Hogue and Gary Burl Hogue

Friends will be received from 10:00A.M.-11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 3 at Heckathorn United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rob Kifer, Presiding.

Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Heckathorn United Methodist Church.
