Catherine R. Lafferty

Catherine “Cathy” R. Lafferty, 80, formerly of Oil City, PA., died  at 10:55 P.M. Saturday April 21, 2018 at Manchester Commons in Erie after an extended illness. Catherine was surrounded by her loving husband of 61 years, Daniel C. Lafferty and her family.

       Born July 21, 1937 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Cyrus & Frances Lowers Rynd. She graduated from Oil City High School.

Mrs. Lafferty had been a secretary for the Oil City School District for many years. She worked at Lincoln Elementary and Oil City Senior High Schools.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oil City.

During Catherine’s teen years, she rode and participated in horse shows. Catherine enjoyed ceramics, reading, and  playing golf. Catherine and Dan spent many summers on their boat in Lake Erie and boated throughout the Great Lakes and Canada.

She is survived by her husband of Manchester Commons in Erie,

two daughters

Patricia Kerr & her husband John of Ripley , NY

Vicki McAninch & her husband Jim of Erie,PA.

Grandchildren

Tim (Kari)Shrout, Amy (Kaisen) Pearce and Katie McAninch (fiancee Steven Sowers)

She is also survived by a twin sister

Dr. Rynda Norsell of Grass Valley, CA.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Interment will be in Rynd Farm Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
