Daniel J. Kauffman

Daniel J. Kauffman, of Oil City, PA. , died at 8:38 P.M. Tuesday Sept. 17, 2019 at the Collins Hospice House after a brief illness.

Born April 19, 1947 in Johnstown, PA., he was the son of the late John & Mary Knapic Kauffman.

Daniel graduated from Beaverdale High School.

He was a 1969 graduate of Clarion University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Special Education, he later attended Shippensburg University where he received his Masters in Counseling in 1971.

In 1975 Daniel earned his Doctorate of Education from the University of Missouri.

He had worked as a Professor for Clarion University and in the Psychology Dept. of Polk Center before retiring from Warren State Hospitals Psycholgy Dept.

Daniel enjoyed gardening, reading and was always eager to learn about new things.

He enjoyed his automobiles and  collecting pocket knives and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Dan was married on June 25, 1983 to the former Lois J. Duncan and she preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2008.

He is survived by his twin daughters

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery in Shippensburg, PA.

The Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
