Doris Copley Obituary

Doris Mae Copley, 94, of Oil City passed away Wednesday October 23, 2019 at Oakwood Heights in Oil City.

She was born on January 3, 1925 in Cornplanter and was the daughter of the late William and Loretta Hutchinson Davis.

She graduated from Oil City High School in 1943.  Following High school Doris joined the Marine Corps, she was a World War II Veteran.

Doris belonged to the Trinity United Methodist Church.

She last worked at Y.M.C.A and previously worked at Foster Forbes and American Greetings.  Doris enjoyed going to her grandkids and great grandkids sporting events and activities, doing word searches, playing bingo, and watching Jeopardy, she was a strong woman and will be greatly missed by her family.

Doris is survived by 5 children; Mike Copley and wife Brenda of Virginia, Rick Copley and wife Judy of Oil City, Dianne Kluck and husband Pete of Oil City, Nancy Robinson of Maryland, and David Copley and wife Judy of South Carolina, son in-law Paul Lorenz of Oregon, special granddaughter Susan Whittemore and husband Harry and children Shalyn and Chayce;  many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Doris is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Lorenz, son in-law Milfred Cadette Robinson, and siblings Ron Davis, Roger Davis, Alice Hankey, Betty McCauley, Arthur "Bud" Davis, and Robert Davis.

There will be a private funeral service for the family and burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery.

Donations in Doris’s name be made out to Venango County Toys for Tots, c/o Oil City VFW, 2 Relief St., Oil City 16301.

The family would like to thank the care givers at Oakwood Heights for their special care.
