Evelyn M. Lauer

Evelyn M. Lauer, 91, formerly of Oil City, died peacefully Thursday Dec. 14, 2017 at ForestView in Erie after an extended illness.

Born January 12, 1926 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Michael A. & Christine J. Bauer Beichner.

Evelyn was a 1944 graduate of Oil City High School.

A homemaker, she had worked for J.C. Penney's for many years.

She was married to Francis A. Lauer on April 22, 1947 in St. Stephens Church and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2017.

Evelyn was a member of St. Stephens Church and  the Rosary Society.

She enjoyed spending time with family, baking, playing cards with friends, and square dancing.

She is survived by four children:

Jeanne Kobolt & her husband James of Las Vegas, NV

Gerald Lauer & his wife Janice of Fairview

David Lauer & his wife Diane of Erie

Francis Lauer and his best friend Dianna Miller of Abingdon, MD

and daughter-in-law Barbara Lauer of Seneca.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren:

Eric, Greg, Matthew, Craig, Todd, Christopher, Brett, Brittany and James

as well as 16 Great Grandchildren.

She is also survived by one sister

Catherine Mauersberg of New York

as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son

James Lauer,

two brothers

Edward Beichner and Eugene Beichner

and a sister

Velma Hibbard.

Friends will be received from 10:00A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in St. Stephens Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. John Miller presiding.

Interment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, VNA Hospice of Erie, or to a hospice of one's choice.

The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
