Gene C. Geno Mitchell

GENE C. ( GENO ) MITCHELL  69 of 2204 Warren Rd. Oil City, PA. died at his residence at 7:00 P.M. Wed. Sept. 10, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.

            Born in Franklin, PA. on April 28, 1945 son of the late Paul Clinton and Helen Elizabeth Hogue Mitchell.

            He was a 1963 graduate of Oil City Senior High School.

            Starting in 1966, he worked for Universal Cyclops which became CyTemp as a Millwright. He retired in 1994 after 27 years on the job. He was a member of their Quarter Century Club. He then went to work for Joy Mfg. in 1994 and worked there until 2010. He also held employment at the Sears Automotive Center starting in 96 , and  had worked at  O’Neill’s Garage in his earlier years prior to CyTemp.

            Geno belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose.  He enjoyed the outdoors and  liked gardening, hunting and fishing.  Bowling and  a good game of darts  was always on the agenda.  He had several trophies to prove it. He also enjoyed Drag Racing and his 69 Dodge Dart GTS  and his best girl Emma,  his Boston Terrier

            Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church .

            He was married to the former Linda Marie Kluck on May 27, 1972 at the former Lamey Methodist Church and she survives along with one son Nicholas P. Mitchell and his wife Sabrina.  Four grandchildren; Alexis, Baylee, Carter and  Dillon  with a fifth Edition due in February.

            Two brothers Cary Mitchell and his wife Marcia Mitchell, Barry Mitchell of Oil City, a sister Debra Mitchell of Tionesta and a sister in-law Mary Mitchell  of Oil City .  and by Linda’s siblings , C.J. “ PETE “ & Diane Kluck of Oil City, Louise & Jim Bauer of Marienville and Wm. & Cathy Kluck of Oil City.

            Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            A  Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday Sept. 14th at the Oakland  United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Edward P. Saxman, presiding.

Memorials may be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church, the Kirtland Foundation or to a charity of ones choice.
