James W. Finnecy, 74, of Oil City passed away Wednesday May 1, 2019 at Oakwood Heights in Oil City after an extended illness.
He was born in Greenville, PA. on June 9, 1944 and was the son of the late James T. and Mary J. Leroux Finnecy.
James graduated from St. Josephs High School.
He worked at Asel’s cabinet shop and worked his way up the ranks and opened up his own cabinet shop called Finnecy & McKenzie Cabinet Shop and worked there for 30 plus years.
James belonged to the Eagles club and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, the outdoors, boating, and was an animal lover.
He is survived by a daughter Michelle Finnecy from Oil City; and grandchildren; James Finnecy, Ryan Finnecy, Erica Sterling and husband Ian, and Rachel Finnecy ; Great grandchildren Avalynne Sterling and Raelynne Finnecy.
Also surviving is a sister Pat Smalley of Oil City.
James was preceded in death by his parents and a son James W.. Finnecy.
There is no visitation or service at this time.
In lieu of flowers the family asked for any donations in James name be made out to the Venango County Humane Society or Precious Paws in Franklin.
The Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
