John L. Jarzab, 94, passed on August 14, 2019 after a short period of declining health.
He was born August 7, 1925 in Oil City, was baptized and confirmed in the Roman Catholic Faith.
John was a life-long member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church and more recently attended St. Joseph Church.
John attended Assumption grade school and was a graduate of Oil City High School, class of 1942.
As a veteran of World War II, he was a Staff Sgt. And B-17 Ball Turret gunner in the Army/Air Force and served overseas in the 8th Air Force, 92nd Bomb Group, 326 Bomb Squadron. During summer and fall of 1944 John flew in thirty-five B-17 bombing missions over Germany.
John retired, after 38 years, from Venango Newspapers in Oil City.
He was the owner and partner with his brother Pete of the restaurant /bar, the White Eagle Inn on North Seneca Street which was founded by his father Ludwik Jarzab.
John was a Life member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, the P.NA. and a former member of the Cranberry Lions Club, and was a former member of the Sleepy Hollow Senior Golf League.
A devoted husband, father and brother, John always put family before himself.
He was quick to aid those who needed help.
John was an avid reader and was very interested in current events; especially politics. Since becoming eligible to vote in 1946, John voted in 72 consecutive November Elections.
John was preceded in death by his mother Teofiola Skiba Jarzab, his father Ludwik Jarzab and by two brothers Felix and Peter, and by five sisters
Mae Hackett, Stella Kluck, Bernice Jasiota, Josephine Reichert and Louise Kozek.
John is survived by his beloved wife, the former Beatrice M. Zialkowki of Titusville whom he married on Oct. 19, 1947 in the Assumption Church.

The family is especially grateful for all the loving care received from the staffs at Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, UPMC, VNA Hospice, Northwest Veterans Admin. and UPMC Transitional Care.
Friends will be received from 4-7 P.M. Sunday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Monday in St. Joseph Church with Fr. Ian McElrath, Presiding.
Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by the V E.T.S. Honor Guard.
