Loretta E. Waslohn, 98, of Greenville, SC and formerly of Oil City died Thursday March 15, 2018 after a period of declining health.
Born March 4, 1920 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Frank S. Tompkins & Bertha McNellie Tompkins
Loretta was a 1937 graduate of Oil City High School.
She was married on Oct. 5, 1940 in St. Joseph Church to Lester G. Waslohn and he preceded her in death on May 31, 1995.
Loretta was a telephone operator for GTE for many years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Rosary Society and a member of the prime timers.
Loretta & Les enjoyed their summer cottage in Oleopolis.
She is survived by
two grandaughters
Jennifer Henderson and her daughter Jalyn of Greenville, with whom she made her home
Laurie Boyles and her children
Jessica, Jeffrey and Samantha
She is also survived by a daughter-in-law Kay Waslohn of State College
and a sister-in-law Betty Coe of Bremington, WA and her daughter Melody Coe
Loretta was preceded in death by her son Dennis Waslohn and by three brothers Maurice, Jim & Harold Tompkins
Friends will be received from 1:30 P.M.to 2:30 P.M.Tuesday in St. Joseph Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 P.M. with Fr. John Miller, Presiding.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
