Mary Sullivan Conway, 97, died at 8:00 A.M. June 2, at home in Guys Mills, following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 15, 1922 in Oil City, PA., the daughter of James D. & Edith Coogan Sullivan.
She attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Oil City Senior High School in 1941.
Following graduation she worked at Pennzoil Co. During World War II, she worked for Signal Corps. in Philadelphia. In the local area, she worked for several firms, including Cities Service and the trust department of Mellon Bank, formerly Northwest Bank.
She married James T. Conway on June 15, 1948 in St. Joseph Church, Oil City. He preceded her in death in September of 2010.
She is survived by the following children: James Conway (Cindy), Erie, PA.; Mary Conway, Rockville, MD; Barbara Ryznar (Ted), Titusville Area; William Conway, Pleasantville area; Susan Conway and Sally Conway, Guys Mills; Linda Barrett (Steve), Alexandria, VA; and Jay Conway, Pleasantville Area.
Also surviving are five grandchildren:
Kelly Morgan, Erin Schlosser, Andrew Ryznar, Edward Ryznar, and Max Barrett, as well as two great grandchildren: Dexter and Spenser Morgan.
She leaves behind several beloved nieces.
Her three sisters also survive: Margaret Eck, Edith Foster, and Ann Sullivan.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: James Sullivan, Matthew Sullivan and Francis Sullivan.
A daughter-in-law Katherine Miller Conway also preceded her in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Ian McElrath, Presiding.
Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery. The family extends appreciation to Asera Care Hospice for their services and kindness.
