Robert J. Murley, 76, of Oil City passed away Thursday Nov. 7, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 28, 1943 in West Reading, PA., he was the son of the late John Murley & Virginia Smith Murley.
Robert was a 1961graduate of Wilson High School in West Lawn, PA.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force and married Carol Moyer in 1963. They shared 56 years together.
While in the Air Force they lived in Denver, CO., Orlando, FL.,and Bitburg, Germany.
Robert worked as a computer engineer for RCA in Camden, NJ and Control Data Corp at Warminister Naval Air Station in Warminister, PA. He also worked as an engineer in charge at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA and retired from the Joy Chain Plant.
Robert was of the Orthodox Presbyterian Faith and served as an elder until his illness.
Robert and his wife owned and operated Yogi Bear Jellystone Camp Resort in West Sunbury, PA.
He was an avid reader and studied American and European History.
Robert enjoyed Trap Shooting and hunting with his Bird Dogs in NC.
He belonged to the Izaak Walton League, the National Rifle Association and the American Legion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister-in-law
Lois Moyer, many nieces and nephews and a special nephew Jason Moyer and special friends Debbie and Mark Pattee.
As per his wishes, there will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Tuckerton, PA. at a later date.
