Ronald Hicks Sr. Obituary

Ronald L. Hicks Sr., 78, of Rouseville, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at UPMC Northwest Hospital.

He was born November 7, 1939, the son of Catherine L. Gonnelly.  On November 8, 1957, he was officially adopted by his mother’s then husband and his only known father, Robert A. Hicks, and took his surname.

 As he grew older, many referred to him as “Trapper” because he resembled the TV character Dr. “Trapper” John McIntyre.  

In addition to his mother, Ron was preceded in death by his adopted father and Robert’s second wife, Audrey Hicks.  Also, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Rita I. Seigworth.

 Ron is survived by his children, Lori L. Hicks, Ronald L. Hicks, Jr., and Kelly S. Hicks; his step-children, Mark Seigworth, Kevin Seigworth, Julie Seigworth and Lena Southworth; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Also, he is survived by his sister, Barbara Antel, and his cousins, Carol Dinello, Donald Artico, and the Guidices.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Venango County Humane Society, 2724 Deep Hollow Road, Franklin, Pennsylvania 16323. 

The Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
