Stanley Warcholik Obituary

Stanley F. Warcholik, 89, of 718 Big Egypt Rd. Franklin, PA. , died at 6:25 P.M. Sunday Feb. 11, 2018 at his home after a brief illness.

Born Oct. 4, 1928 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late Joseph & Julia Chmiel Warcholik.

Stanley went to Assumption Grade School and was a graduate of Oil City High School.

Stanley entered the United States Navy on Oct. 18, 1945 and served on the USS Prometheus and Received the World War II Victory Medal. He was discharged in June of 1946.

He reentered the Navy in 1948 and served several more enlistments serving on the U.S.S. Schmitt before entering the Naval Reserves and separating in 1968.

Stanley had worked for the Oil City and Knox Glass Plants before retiring from Joy Manufacturing where he worked as a tool designer.

On Sept. 18, 1965 he was married to the former Loretta M. Whalen and she survives.

Stanley was a member of St. Stephen's Church, where he ushered for over 44 years.

He was also a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Knights of Columbus #385, the Fourth Degree Assembly and was a member of their Color Guard.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a baby sister Stella and a nephew John Winters.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 7-9 P.M. Wednesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at St. Stephen's Church.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association.
