Susan Y. “Suzy” McLane Gault, 90, of Emrick Dr. in Seneca and formerly of E. 6th St. in Oil City passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday October 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness.
She was born June 10, 1927 in Oil City, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lyla McLane.
Mrs. Gault graduated from Oil City High School in 1945.
She was employed at the Mellon Bank and held various positions over the years. She retired in 1987 as a cost account officer, after 42 years with the bank. She met her husband Robert at the bank and they were married in 1950. They celebrated 51 years of marriage before Bob’s passing in 2001.
Susan was active member in the Christ Episcopal Church in Oil City. She was also the treasurer for the Community Playhouse and served on the board of directors for many years.
She held various roles at Community Playhouse, she could be found sewing costumes, making props, and even produced a few plays as well as making her way on stage on several productions.
Mrs. Gault enjoyed going to the family cottage at Conneaut Lake and spending time with her family, boating, fishing and having campfires.
She enjoyed Broadway Musicals.

In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law James Lauer and 2 brothers Kenneth and Ronald McLane.
She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law Henry C. Bruner and sister-in-law’s Marion Bruner, Virginia Ashbaugh and Elaine McLane
Friends will be received from 2-4 and again from 7-9 P.m. Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the Christ Episcopal Church, with Deacon Mark Elliston, Presiding.
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
