Anna Marie Brumbaugh, 84, of Oil City, PA., died Thursday June 5, following an extended illness and complications of a recent stroke.
She was born July 4, 1941, in Oil City, the daughter of John V. Beer and Frances E Stanish Beer of Oil City.
Her parents later divorced, and Anna Marie's mother married H. Emerson Beal of Corry, PA and was raised with two surviving stepbrothers Emerson H Beal of Corry and David E Beal of Doylestown, PA. An older brother, John W "Jackie" Beer died August 7, 1950, at age 12.
A 1959 business graduate of Corry Area High School, she married James Brumbaugh of Oil City in 1970.and resided in Oil City throughout her married life. James passed away March 19, 2017. She is survived by her only child, Christopher Brumbaugh also of Oil City. She is also survived by several cousins including Gloria Baughman, David and Linda Stanish of Oil City, James Eilers of Titusville, Shirley Eilers of Warren and nieces Patty Stein (CA), Maryann Stein (SC), and Judith Anderton of Oil City and nephews A.J Fornal of Oil City and Raymond Woloszyn (NC)
Anna Marie had been retired for several years following an illustrious employment career with Aero Supply and General Telephone in Corry, various banking institutions throughout the Oil City area, a gas drilling company in Pleasantville and a local pharmacy. She was a member of St Stephens Catholic Church in Oil City and volunteered at the Assumption B.V. M. Church.
Anna Marie loved animals, enjoyed quilting, sewing, doing arts and crafts and gardening. She was a volunteer weather
recorder for N.O.A.H. for the Oli City area. An avid reader, she took adult education classes and enjoyed going to the Oil City Library. She enjoyed activities at the local Senior Center. Never one to complain, Anna Marie lived frugally and never overspent on herself. She had a great sense of humor. and kept a smile on your face during any conversation.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 17 in the Reinsel Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Fr. Richard Allen, Pastor of St. joseph Church, Presiding.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
