Arnie W. McDonald

Arnie W. McDonald, 73, of Oil City, PA. , passed away at home Sunday Aug. 13, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Born July 10, 1950  in Pine City, PA., he was the son of the late Alfred & Josephine Lenhart McDonald.

Arnie attended schools in Cranberry.

On August 27, 1974 he married the love of his life Kathryn  F. (Kathy) Rodgers and she survives along with their beloved Maddie and Weezie.

Arnie was employed as Supervisor of Grove Hill Cemetery, where he worked for 37 years, retiring in 2022.

He was an avid Penguins Fan and loved spending free time with his wife and family.

Arnie was preceded in death by his beloved son Richard of Oil City as well as three brothers  Ed , George and John McDonald and by two sisters Mary Lou Sharpe and Dottie Fross.

He was also preceded in death by two nieces Sherri Hunt and Vickie Havens and one nephew Ronald (Skeet) Sharpe.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers Al McDonald &  his wife Becki  and Bob McDonald  & his wife Sue  all of Oil City and by three sisters Carol (Don) Richey of Reno, Helen Chapel of Oil City and Joann & JC Chapel of Orange, CA

A special niece Eva Jo (Little Foot) Wagner as well as many other nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by daughter-in-law Kim Stover and his very special grandchildren Samantha Stover of Oil City and Cassandra (Bobby) Besancon of Hunlock Creek, PA. and Rick Morrison of Cranberry, PA.

And two special great-grandchildren Sawyer & Charley Besancon

The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

As per Arnie’s wishes there will be no viewing or visitation, and a Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be made to the Reinsel Funeral Home 116 Bissell Ave. Oil City, PA. 16301 to help the family defray funeral expenses.
