Brian J. Jenkins, 81, of Oil City, PA. passed away Wednesday August 21, 2024 at UPMC-Hamot in Erie after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 20, 1943 in Jamestown, NY., he was the son of the late Vernon L. and Julia Batson Jenkins.
Brian attended Westfield Academy and was a graduate of Central High School.
He then attended Oil City Business School.
Brian entered the U.S. Navy on Oct. 10, 1961 and served until he was honorably discharged on March 4, 1966.
He was married on Nov. 21, 1970 to the former Margaret C. “Peggy” Wolcott and she survives.
Brian was employed as the raw materials production manager at Electralloy for many years.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Brian was a member of James M. Henderson Post 32 of the American Legion and had been Commander, Past Commander and was currently serving as Adjutant.
He was also a member of the former Exchange Club.
Brian was also a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he had served as Treasurer and lay speaker.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children
Jennifer Carley and her husband Kevin of Greencastle
James Jenkins and his wife Melissa of Williamsport
Two grandchildren
Jillian and Lemon
And by two sisters
Bonnie Rodgers of Reno
Ruby Combs and her husband Gene of Winston Salem, NC
As well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Jenkins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday August 24 in the Bethel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Thomas Carr, Presiding.
Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S.Honor Guard.
