Carl E. O’Neil Jr., 76, of Oil City, PA., passed away Nov. 15, 2024 at Oakwood Heights Village.
Born Nov. 13, 1948 in Franklin, PA., he was the son of the late Carl E. O’Neil Sr. and Ida Kiesel O’Neil.
Carl was a graduate of Oil City High School.
He entered the United States Army in August of 1968, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Two Overseas Bars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medallion, the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged on July 27, 1971.
Carl married the former Janet A. Bechtel and she survives.
He had worked and retired from Polk Center where he was a Resident Service Aide.
Carl enjoyed carpentry and building things.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children
Daniel O’Neil and his wife Marcie of Oil City and their children
Layla and Danielle,
Scott O’Neil of Oil City,
William O’Neil of Oil City and his daughter Cameron
He is also survived by a brother
Steven M. O’Neil and his wife Crystal of Franklin
A sister
Victoria McDonald of Oil City
and his friends at the Oil City McDonalds
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Emily and by a brother Richard O’Neil
Friends will be received from 2-4 P.M. Monday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2P.M. Tuesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home with Bishop Spencer Hill, Presiding.
Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
