It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward John Giebel, who died on May 15, 2026, at the age of 80.
Ed was admired and respected by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered for his quick wit, warm sense of humor, and remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Always up for an adventure, he found great joy spending time on his boat and tending to his garden. He also loved model airplanes, drones, and any new gadget or “toy” he could get his hands on. He was the person family, friends, and neighbors could always rely on, steady, kind, and endlessly resourceful.
Born in Pittsburgh, Ed raised his family in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, before enjoying retirement in Kennerdell, Pennsylvania, and North Hutchinson Island, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Antoinette Giebel, and his sister, Patricia.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Susan; his children Joy (John) Hall, Edward (Melissa) Giebel, Matthew Giebel, and Natalie (Jeremy) Miles; and his beloved grandchildren Jack, Jesse, and Jonah Hall, Sophia Giebel, and Finnegan and Delaney Miles.
Ed proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. He will be laid to rest during a private ceremony at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family and all who knew him.
