Eloise Blake Obituary

Eloise Adele Blake, 80, passed away on January 29, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by devotion, quiet strength, and unconditional love. Born on January 24, 1946, in North Platte, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Merle Vincent Ford and Ardith Leola (Colson) Ford.

Eloise was the beloved wife of the late James W. Blake, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.  They lived in 7 states, enjoying each one for the friends they met and the unique characteristics that each area of the country had.  Together, they enjoyed travelling, nature, literature and humor. In 1990, they moved to Pennsylvania, their favorite state of all the places they had lived, and remained there.  Shortly after this move, they converted to the Catholic faith.

Eloise loved cozy mysteries, movies with happy endings, crossword puzzles, spending time with family, praying the Rosary, and going to mass.  Above all else, Eloise was a devoted mother and grandmother. She poured her heart into her family, offering steady encouragement, fierce loyalty, and a listening ear whenever it was needed. Her home was a place of comfort and care, where everyone felt welcome and supported. She had a gentle spirit, a patient nature, and a deep love for the innocent, the underdog and anyone she called family.

Eloise is survived by her loving children, James W. Blake III of Reynoldsville, PA, Mary Blake of Tallahassee, FL, and Eileen Mast and her husband Ben of Center Valley, PA. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren, Sheila, Dustin and Thia White of San Diego, CA, Brandy, Casper, Wesley, James IV, Michael, Anna, and James V Blake of Reynoldsville, PA, and Estelle and Henry Mast of Center Valley, PA.
