Evelyn M. (Stubler) Shannahan

Evelyn Shannahan, 95, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away December 14, 2024.

            Born January 11, 1929, in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of John G. and Melania Judy Stubler.

Evelyn was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. She shared her time and talents in many ways. She worked as a secretary in the office of St. Stephen’s School. She was a member of the Rosary Society and was involved with the Cursillo movement. Evelyn was a volunteer for the Oil City Meals on Wheels program.

Her hobbies included sewing, playing cards, reading and gardening..

She was married on Feb. 9, 1952 to Daniel A. Shannahan and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1995.

Evelyn was the mother of six children

And Jane Deutschlander (Jim) of Erie, PA.

A brother-in-law

William Palmer of Salem, VA.

Her helpful nephew John Stubler along with  numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Mary (Stubler) Palmer, brother John (Jack) Stubler, sisters-in-law Gertrude Shannahan and Mary(Shannahan) Driscoll and her husband Joseph .

Friends will be received from 11:00 A.M. – 12 NOON on Monday December 30th in St. Joseph Church, 35 Pearl Ave. Oil City, PA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Monday Dec. 30th with Fr. Richard Allen Pastor, Presiding.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
