Everett L. Sopher, 90, of Titusville, PA. passed away Tuesday May 7, 2024 at the Titusville Hospital after an extended illness.
Born May 6, 1934 in Titusville, PA., he was the son of the late Alfred and Jessie Sterling Sopher.
Ev was a graduate of Titusville High School.
He entered the United States Army on Dec. 10, 1956 and was honorably discharged on Dec. 11, 1958, serving as a Private First Class.
After being discharged from the Army, Everett worked at Sylvania, sold cars for Bimber Auto Sales and retired from Penn Bank where he worked as a buyer.
In early years Everett enjoyed bowling, later he enjoyed fishing and hunting for turkey and deer, up until the age of 88.
He and his wife were involved with the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years.
Everett had also worked many years for Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home.
He married the former Gertrude L. Snyder Armstrong on July 3, 1968 in Northeast, PA. , and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children
Roderick Armstrong and his wife Rosann of Parkersburg, WV
Rhonda Sippy and her husband Lon of Meadville
Robin Mitchell and her companion Graeme Thomson of Canberra, Australia
Randy Armstrong and his wife Cheryl of Titusville
11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren also survive.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Hugh and Leon Sopher, and sisters Ruth Goodwill and Doris Price and a half brother Kenneth Armstrong and by two grandchildren Ryan Armstrong and Lucas Mitchell
A Celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
