Fernando Olivas, 69, of Oil City, PA., passed away Monday Nov. 25, 2024 at his home.
Born June 27, 1955 in Juarez, Mexico, he was the son of Valentin and Lorenza Torrez Olivas.
Fernando was married to the former Maria T. Hernandez and she survives.
He had worked for Klapec Trucking Company and for Hardinger and had worked in housekeeping for UPMC-Northwest.
Fernando enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was of the Catholic Faith, and had attended St. Joseph Church where he was a lector.
Fernando was very proud of Jesus, who with his sons purchased Venango Steel, a place where they had both worked together.
Jesus had been deployed with the 107th Field Artillery in Iraq, and Fernando was very proud of him and had shown him great support while he was deployed.
Fernando worked long and hard to make sure that his family was taken care of.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step son
Jesus “Jessie” Hernandez and his wife Madina ,of Wampum, PA.

Dameka, Rea, Jessie Hernandez, Nikko, Tyanna and Devin
Great Grandchildren
Kendyl, Jayden, Marlin and Noah
He is also survived by several brothers and sisters.
Fernando was preceded in death by his daughter Norma Patricia Olivas.
He will be buried at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
The Reinsel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
