Genevieve C. “Jean” Taydus, 96, of Oil City, PA., passed away March 31, 2025 at her home.
Born Dec. 10, 1928 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Caroline Marchut Oleksak.
Jean was a 1946 graduate of Oil City High School.
She was married in the Assumption B.V.M. Church on August 22, 1953 to Charles S. “Chuck” Taydus and he preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2011.
Jean had worked at Oilwell Supply, Chicago Pneumatic Tool and at Brody’s.
She was a lifelong member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church, the rosary society at the church and the Punxy Polka Club as well as the PNA Club.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jean is survived by three sons
Joe Taydus and his wife Terri of Longmont, CO.
Steve Taydus and his significant other Sherryl Lockhart of Shawnee, OK.
Allan Taydus of Oil City
And one daughter
Connie McIntyre of Oil City

Mark, Tyler, and Mitch Taydus
Melissa and Kevin Grey
Christopher and Stephanie Taydus
Kevin McIntyre
Irena McIntyre
Conor McIntyre
And great grandchildren Carson McIntyre, Kyle McIntyre, Mason McIntyre and Alessia McIntyre
As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by one sister Joan Serafin of Oil City
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Martin, Frank, John and Anthony Oleksak
And sisters Agnes Stewart and Cecilia Garbacz and a son-in-law Richard McIntyre
A Special Thank You to caregiver Emma McBride, for the love and care you gave Jean in her final days.
The Family will have private services.
