Gerald L. “Jerry” Deeter, 73, of Pleasantville, PA., passed away Monday Oct. 28, 2024 at Oakwood Heights in Oil City.
Born Jan. 18, 1951 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late Clifford and Dorothy Hynes Deeter.
Jerry was a 1969 graduate of Oil City High School.
A Veteran of the United States Navy, Jerry served during Vietnam, entering in March 1970 and served until March of 1974 and entered the Navy Reserves after his discharge.
He had worked at Cyclops-Cytemp Specialty Steel for many years.
He later went to the Tennessee Blacksmith School and became a Farrier, since 1991.
Gerald was married to the former Sondra S. Rearigh and she survives.
He enjoyed his horses, riding the trails with them and camping with his wife at Benezette.
He also enjoyed riding his Can-Am Spider.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son

He was preceded in death by brothers Clifford Deeter Jr., Henry “Sonny” Deeter,
David Deeter, John Deeter, and Robert Deeter
And by a sister Ruth Sobrowski.
Friends will be received from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. and Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank all those at Oakwood Heights for their care and concern while Gerald was a patient there.
