Gwendolyn (Gwen) Berry, 82, of Oil City, PA, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, PA.
Born on November 18, 1942, in Oil City, Gwen was the daughter of the late Ralph O. and Esther (Barber) Best.
Gwen was a graduate of Oil City High School and went on to attend Robert Morris College. She was married on April 22, 1961, to John (Pete) Berry, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2024.
Gwen was a licensed practical nurse for 20 years at the Presbyterian Nursing Home in Oil City.
Gwen attended the Good Hope Lutheran church for many years and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Gwen enjoyed baking, porch-sitting and spending time with her family and her Valley Dairy coffee club friends.
Gwen is survived by five sons: Mike Berry and his wife Becky (Knight) of Reno, Moe Berry and his wife Traci (Karns), Tom Berry and his wife Kim (Coogan), Tim Berry and his fiancée Leslie Cochran, all of Oil City, and Chad Berry and his wife Stacey (McLaughlin) of Venus. Gwen is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Travis Berry, Emily Shaffer and her husband Adam, Rachel Bish and her husband Tanner, Tayler Marterella and her husband Nathan, Tanner Berry, Tifany Berry, Reece Berry and Tyler Berry. She’s also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, a nephew and niece, Tye Best and Tara Milner, a sister-in-law, Debbie Best, and numerous cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Gwen was preceded in death by her brother, John Best of Seneca, PA.
A private family visitation will be held at the convenience of the family. The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Venango County Humane Society, and condolences may be sent through www.reinselfuneralhome.com.
The Berry family extends special thanks to Jody Bialo and Lori Hynes and the other wonderful in-home aide staff of TLC (Tender Loving Care), who were all very special to Gwen.
