Harry Edward Downs Jr., formerly of Parma Heights, OH., died at his daughters home in North Ridgeville, OH. , on Sept. 22, 2019 at the age of 95. Harry was surrounded by his family.
Born October 20, 1923 in Cleveland, OH. , he was the son of the late Harry Downs Sr. & Martha Fenske Downs.
Harry proudly served in the United States Army, serving during World War II in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines, COB 153rd Engineer Combat Battalion.
Harry moved from Oil City, PA. to Cleveland after attending Edinboro Teachers College for commercial art to attend Coopers School of Art. He worked at a studio at Bill Ripley and Associates as a commercial artist and eventually owned his own business in downtown Cleveland for over thirty years.
Harry was an avid sportsman, hunted and fished his entire life and enjoyed his cottage on the Allegheny River in Ahrensville for over fifty years.
He was a member of the VFW and the K of C.
Harry was married to the former Therese A. Driscoll in St. Joseph Church and she preceded him in death on June 26, 2002.
He is survived by two daughters and their spouses.

He was a loving and devoted family man. Better known as “Grandpa” or“Knucklehead” to all who knew him, Harry's comedic personality, quick wit and heart of gold will be missed by all.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and from 6-9P.M. Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home, 116 Bissell Ave. Oil City, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday in St. Joseph Church with Fr. Ian McElrath, Presiding.
Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded at Church by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
