Obituary
Howard L. Schrock, 81, of Oil City, PA. passed away Friday Aug. 18, 2023 at his home.
Born May 14, 1942 in Newfield, PA., he was the son of the late Austin & Rita Ritchey Schrock.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and had also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Mr. Schrock was married on March 30, 1968 to the former Helen M. Cowfer and she survives.
Howard was employed in construction for Ryan Homes and later as a mechanic for the City of Oil City.
He enjoyed shooting pool, bowling and golfing and was an avid hunter.
Howard also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children
Brenda Smith of Franklin
Ken Smeltzer & his wife Shelley of Oil City
Steve Smeltzer of Oil City
7 grandchildren
Anthony, Ian, Rebecca, Rick, Colin, Carlee and Chloee
He is also survived by 2 sisters Rita Greenberg and Sharon Mikus and a twin brother Gilbert Schrock
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Richard James Smeltzer III, two daughters , Rose Marie Allen and Leslie Ann Roberts a granddaughter Ginger Wolbert and a brother Austin “Bud” Schrock
Visitation and Services will be private.
