Joan B. Arseneau, 94, of Oil City, PA., passed away Saturday Dec. 14, 2024 in the loving care of Oil City Healthcare and Rehab., where she had resided the past 8 years due to complications from a broken hip.
Born March 31, 1930 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Ruth G. Deets Burnett.
Joan was a graduate of Oil City High School.
She had worked as an auditor for Mellon Bank for many years.
Mrs. Arseneau had belonged to the Professional Women's Club.
Joan was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Oil City, now the Cornerstone Bible Church.
She was a church secretary, deaconess, and a Sunday school teacher at the church.
Joan was married to Leo Arseneau and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2004.
She is survived by her children
Nancy Cook Lawson and her husband Albert of Oil City
Richard J. Cook of San Diego, CA.
Alisa Joan Cook of Rochester, NY.
Jeffrey M. Cook and his wife Zoanne of Poland, OH.
Diana M. Cook of Cranberry, PA.
Numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews
And the following step children
Vicki Heeter, Taryn Kope, Randy Arseneau and Renee Cubbon
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters Patricia McElhattan Mary Lou Dille and Carol Harris and a step son Greg Arseneau.
Friends will be received from 12 Noon until 1:00P.M. Friday Dec. 20 in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. William Hopkins, Presiding.
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Oil City Library or to the Cornerstone Bible Church.
