Johanna L. (Herren) Rohde

Johanna L. Rohde, 87, of Seneca, PA. passed away at Thursday May 16, 2024 at her home following a brave fight with pancreatic cancer.

                Born Oct. 3, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA., she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Smedley Herren.

Johanna was a graduate of Neshamimy High School.

She entered the United States Navy on Nov. 9, 1954 and was honorably discharged as a TE3 on Feb. 15, 1957.

Johanna worked in the clerical field for many years.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and watching baseball.

Johanna had been a member of St. Stephen’s Church.

She was married to William F. Rohde on February 17, 1962 and he preceded her in death in March, 2004

Survivors include four children, whom she talked about often:

Jeffrey Abrams and  his wife Margaret of Philadelphia.

Cheryl Xander and her life partner Howard Cade of Franklin

William Rohde of Seneca

Susan Rohde of Illinois

Her two grandchildren, Brandon Xander of Cleveland and Bryanna Xander of Pittsburgh were so special to her.  She cherished seeing them when they came to visit or just a phone call.  She was so proud of both of them with all their accomplishments.

Her children and grandchildren were her shining lights through life.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A Private Memorial Service for family will be held in the Reinsel Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Dill, VNA Hospice Chaplain presiding.

Memorials may be made to  the Venango VNA Hospice or to the Hillman Cancer Foundation

The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
