John G. Ertola, 79, of Pleasantville, PA., passed away March 15, 2026 at UPMC-Hamot in Erie.
Born Sept. 16, 1946 in Titusville, PA., he was the son of the late John A. and Mable Sutter Ertola.
John graduated from Titusville High School and went on to welding school.
A jack of all trades, John had worked as a welder, machinist, mechanic, truck driver and was most recently employed as a millwright at Joy Manufacturing.
He was married to the former Margaret A. Boocks on June 13, 1970 and she preceded him in death on July 10, 2015.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing and the companionship of his dog Iggy.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, four wheeler and side by side and working on his hot rod.
John was one of the original people in forming the Pleasantville rescue squad.
He had been a member of the Titusville Moose Club and the Titusville Lodge #754 F&AM.
Survivors include,
Anthony Ertola of Pleasantville, who, John was very devoted to.
A sister
Mary Jo Farrelly of CT.
And her children
Brian, Kevin, Heather, Sean and Joseph Farrelly.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Venango County Humane Society or to the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Dept.
The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
