John W. Griffin

John W. Griffin, 89, of Seneca, PA., passed away Wednesday July 17, 2024 at UPMC-Hamot in Erie.

            He was born Dec. 17, 1934 in Oil City, PA.

John attended Oil City Schools.

He was first married to Minnie Oakes and she preceded him in death, he later married Helen M. Beers Oakes and she also preceded him in death.

John had worked as a sandblaster operator at CPT in Franklin for many years.

He is survived by three children

Wiliam Griffin and his wife Nancy Kowal-Griffin of Oil City

Ron Griffin and his wife Deborah of Oil City

Beverly Sharrer of Oil City

Stepchildren

Lorraine (Vernon) Sparks of Oil City

Rebecca Earp of Nickleville

Manuel “Tim” Oakes of Kennerdell

Cindy (Tom) Hanna of Seneca

And the following grandchildren

As well as numerous great grandchildren and step grandchildren and step great grandchildren

The last survivor of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by three step children

Lois Moyer, Dixie LeMier and Randy Oakes. , and by son in law Ronald Sharrer

Friends will be received from 11:00A.M.-1:00P.M. Saturday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Precious Paws or to a charity of ones choice.
