John D. Murray

John D. Murray, 84, of Oil City, PA., passed away Saturday Feb. 15, 2025 at the Crawford Care Center in Saegertown.

            Born July 28, 1940 in Cranberry, PA., he was the son of the late John B and Bernice Merwin Murray.

John attended Cranberry Schools.

He was married in the Heckathorn United Methodist Church on Sept. 24, 1964 to the former Linda D. Neely and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2016.

John had worked at several places over the years, more recently he was employed by K.B. Pizza in Franklin.

He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR.

John is survived by two children

Brenda Lary and her husband Randy of Oil City,

And Matthew Murray of Oil City

A son-in-law

Lyle Sterner of East Brady

6 grandchildren

Dominique, Krysta and Lyle Sterner Jr.

Travis Lary, Nicole Rowland and Randy Lary Jr.

Three great grandchildren

Michael Rowland, Donald Lary and Landon Alabran.

A brother,

Richard Murray of Oil City and a sister

Rhea Britt of GA.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter

Rebecca Sterner and a brother Robert Murray and sister Erma Hurt.

Private Funeral Arrangements will take place at the convenience of the family.

The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
