Karen L. (Schneider) Gatesman

Karen L. Gatesman, 75, of Wendell, NC. And formerly of Oil City, PA., passed away Saturday June 29, 2024

Born Dec. 28, 1948 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of Renwick C. “Rennie” and Eiizabeth J. “Betsy” Harper Schneider.

Karen was a graduate of Venango Christian High School, and had received an associated degree in Industrial Engineering.

She was married in 1970 to William P. Gatesman and he survives.

Karen worked for Mitsubishi Semiconductors and had done some courier work and retired in 2009.

She had her own business cleaning houses for a number of years.

Karen enjoyed water skiing, traveling and fishing and enjoyed helping people.

She had two sons who both died early in their lives William M. Gatesman II  who died July 9,  1990  in a drowning accident and Jeremiah B. Gatesman, who was killed on Feb. 19, 1998.

In addition to her husband she is survived by the following brothers and sisters

Gerald Schneider and his wife Rosi of Fertigs

Louise Best and her husband Ken of Erie

John Schneider of Hilliard, OH

Mary Beth Canbulat and her husband Gene Detrich of Troy, OH

David Schneider and his wife Bridget of Plumer

Renwick C. “Charlie” Schneider of Dempseytown

Steven Schneider and his wife Ann of Palm Coast, FL

Christopher Schneider and his wife Julie of Oil City

Kim Kahney and her husband Dr. Scott Kahney of Woodland, TX

In addition to her parents and sons, she was preceded in death by a brother Greg Schneider.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday August 24 at St. Joseph Church with Fr. Richard, Allen, Presiding.

She will be buried with her sons in Calvary Cemetery.

The Reinsel Funeral Home is assisting the family will local arrangements.
