Kathleen Stanley Morrison of Titusville passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 after a brief and unexpected medical challenge. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 26, 1957 to the late Edward I. Stanley, Jr. and Joyce E. Anderson Stanley. She was also preceded in death by her Grand Daughter Casey Jean Morrison and sisters Ellen, Mary and Ann. Kathleen was the beloved wife of 42 years to Keith Morrison of Franklin, PA. In the Catholic tradition, she attended St. Joseph Elementary School in Oil City and later graduated from Venango Christian High School in 1975. She went on to earn her teaching degree at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY where she graduated with honors in 1979. Kathleen later earned a Masters Degree in early childhood education from Edinboro State College. Her purpose was to teach young minds and to develop the curiosity of children. She successfully achieved this endeavor by teaching in the Titusville School District for 37 years. She tirelessly contributed to the school district's Early Childhood Learning Center where she would promote literacy efficiencies for students at a young age. This focus very often fell outside normal classroom hours. She also donated countless hours to numerous community charities and causes.
Kathleen had numerous interests beyond her passion for teaching. She was skilled at interior design and in particular, window treatments that transformed the ordinary to stylish. She enjoyed golfing with family and friends, but playfully admitted that her course skills were better suited for simply driving the golf cart. She was an avid birdwatcher who could identify and name a wide array of local species. Her backyard feeding stations attracted birds throughout the year. Kathleen loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Bethany Beach, DE as a young girl and later with her own family. She was not immune from raucous casino excursions with her younger sisters. Above all else, Kathleen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her family and the times spent together at her pool or around the fireplace during holiday homecomings. Most recently, she had become the stereotypical doting grandmother to her beloved Jack. She spent countless hours in Akron, OH before, during and after Jack's birth. Kathleen was a loving and loyal sister, a favorite aunt and a true friend. She will be sorely missed by her faithful canine companion Waylon who provided endless hours of affection.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Keith; her children: Katie Camp, husband Danny and Grandson Jack, Michael and wife Valerie; Siblings: Sarah Suhr and husband Doug, Nancy O’Toole and husband Brian, Ned Stanley and wife Denise. Numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by some very special neighbors. At her request, a private Catholic Mass and Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Oil City, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen's name to Emma's Footprints, 412 West 8th Street, Erie , PA 16502 or emmasfootprints.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory in Oil City, PA.
