Logan Bemis Obituary

Logan Bemis, 21, of Franklin, PA, passed away on Monday April 27, 2026 at his home. He was born on November 12, 2004 in Seneca, PA. He was the son of Cara (Gates) Salsgiver and Brian Bemis. Logan graduated from Oil City Senior High School in 2023. He worked at Post Consumer Brands in Meadville.

In addition to his father, Logan is survived by his daughter, Brynleigh Bemis and his fiancée Halyne Riley, both of Franklin; his grandparents Cindy Curran and Thomas Gates of Oil City; his grandparents Lanny and Judy Bemis of Colorado; his brother Jacob Salgiver and his wife, Abby, of Franklin; his brother Dylan Salsgiver of Oil City and his partner, Linzee Fye of Strattanville; his aunt, Hillary (Gates) Wisniewski, and her husband, Mike, and his cousin, Freya, of Oil City.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cara (Gates) Salsgiver.

Logan loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a friendly person and easy to talk with in general. Anyone who really knew Logan was very familiar with his enjoyment of storytelling and just chatting away. He was very talented when it came to mechanical pursuits and often fixed his own car or those of others. If someone said they doubted he could fix something, he would work hard to prove them wrong. He wasn’t afraid of hard work and outside of his regular job he would often find side hustles. Logan enjoyed hunting and fishing as well, and was often excited to share any good news he had from his ventures. Logan was energetic, questioned things, and could be a bit stubborn on occasion. He was an intelligent person and likely would have made a good attorney as he was quick to bring up counterpoints and make his case. Logan was always willing to help others when needed. He was such a caring person whose light shone bright in this world; it is to the family’s great sadness that his light has now gone out. As strongly as he loved those around him, he also struggled and was actively working on getting to a better place for himself and his family.

Unlike the obituaries of people who lived longer lives, this one cannot highlight a lifetime of accomplishments. Rather, the death of someone so young brings up more thoughts related to what they won’t experience. Logan planned on getting married, but that will no longer happen. He will never watch his daughter grow up and see what type of person she will become. Logan will no longer be able to share in the milestones his brothers will experience. He will not see his cousin graduate from high school. Logan will not be able to spend time with any of the family members and friends he loved so much. He will never again eat the food his Grammie made for him or the Nutella cake his aunt would make for him. Although he will not experience these things, what will be experienced by those who loved him is the profound loss and absence of his presence in their lives.

If you or a loved one is going through difficulties, please seek out additional support as soon as you are able. If not for yourself, for those who love you. Because like Logan, you are loved.
