Lon D. "Dave" Knox

Lon D. “Dave” Knox III, 72, of Oil City, PA., passed away March 31, 2026 at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh .

            Born  Oct. 19, 1953 in Oil City, PA., son of the late Lon D. Knox II and Minnie B. “Dutch” Lewis Knox.

Dave was a graduate of Oil City High School.

He was married on August 4, 1973 to the former Marsha L. McGee and she survives.

Dave had worked many years for Electralloy where he retired as a supervisor.

He was involved in Boy Scouts, and enjoyed geocaching .

Dave also enjoyed kayaking, archery and rifle hunting and bass fishing at Oilcreek.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children

Joshua D. Knox and his wife Nicole of Plumer

Valerie D. Knox of Oil City

9 grandchildren

Seth, Ethen, Elijah Knox, Kyleigh Anderson, Carter Anderson

Caroline Knox, Korbin Knox, Hailey Knox and Jacob  Miller

Friends will be received from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday April 7 in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
