Margaret Mary (Hynes) Stubler

Margaret M. “Peg" Stubler, 90, of Laguna Woods, CA., and Oil City native, passed away July 12, 2023 at San Juan Hills Healthcare Center in CA.

Born Oct. 17, 1932 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late John Patrick Hynes & Hazel Lindal Hynes.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, class of 1950.

Peg was  previously married to George (Bud) Stubler on Sept. 5, 1953 in St. Joseph Church and he preceded her in death.

Peg had worked at St. Joseph Rectory in her earlier years for Bishop McManaman from 1950-1954 and moved to California in 1959, while in California, she worked for various companies including Xerox, Aerojet and JPL and lastly as an executive assistant at LaCosta Resort and Spa.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Laguna Woods.

She is survived by her children

Susan M. Puchalski and her husband John of Laguna Hills

Mary Lynn Stubler of Oil City

Ann E. Stubler of Laguna Hills

Chris A. Maggio of Las Vegas, NV

Two grandchildren

Noah Puchalski and Mark Puchalski

She is also survived by two brothers

John (Jack) Hynes of  Oil City

Francis (Herk) Hynes and his wife Elaine of Edinboro

And a sister

Sr. Rosanne Lindal Hynes OSB -Erie, PA.

As well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and their wives

Patrick (Lefty) Hynes and his wife Patricia

James Thomas Hynes and his wife Mabel

and a sister-in-law Josephine Hynes

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on August 5 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Joseph Church in Oil City, PA.

Inurnment was in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church Improvement Fund
