Mark F. Anderton

Mark F. Anderton, 76, passed away on March 13, 2025, in Oil City, Pennsylvania.

Born on March 3, 1949, in Oil City, he spent his life connected to the community he called home.  

Mark was the owner and founder of Redfoot Pottery, where he shared his passion for pottery through online art sales and hands-on classes. His dedication to the craft was evident in every piece he created and in the many students he mentored over the years. Beyond his professional work, Mark had a deep appreciation for antiques and spent much of his time collecting and restoring unique finds.  

He found joy in a variety of hobbies, including golf, pool, and racquetball. Whether shaping clay or perfecting his game on the course or court, Mark approached each pursuit with enthusiasm and skill.  

Mark is survived by his daughters, Julie Anderton and Rose McLean (husband Patrick). He is also survived by his siblings Amanda Bonar (husband John) and John J. Anderton Jr. (wife Judy), sister-in-law Dolly Anderton, brother-in-law Patrick Dowling, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Anderton Sr. and Jeanne Louise Wolfkiel Anderton, as well as siblings Sylvia Elizabeth Dowling, Douglas Andrew "Doug" Anderton, and Andrea J. (Anderton) Reed.  

A memorial gathering will be held on April 18, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Reinsel Funeral Home, located at 116 Bissell Ave., Oil City, Pennsylvania.
