Mark T. King, 62, of Oil City, PA., passed away Friday Jan. 9, 2026 at UPMC-Hamot in Erie
after an extended illness.
Born August 24, 1963 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of Phyllis L. McCartney King and the late Francis Edward King.
Mark was a 1981 graduate of Oil City High School.
He was married on Nov. 13, 2012 to the former Sandy J. Winger and she survives.
Mark had worked as a furnace operator for Electralloy.
He loved going to the cottage in Ahrensville, and especially sitting around the firepit.
Mark enjoyed listening to music, always planted a garden, and enjoyed sharing its bounty with others.
He had a green thumb and enjoyed African Violets.
He enjoyed cooking, baking and canning, and making his own sauerkraut.
A jack of all trades, he enjoyed helping others, even throughout his illness.
A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching the Oil City Oilers.
Most of all he loved his grandchildren, and teaching them quirky things that only he would do, like spraying whip cream out of the containers right into their mouths.

Nicholas King and his wife Bethany of Oil City
And their children
Logan and Lainey King
A step son
John Wertz II and his wife Laura of Warren and their children Maddy Wertz and John Wertz III
Step daughter
Shannon Ochs and her husband Scott of Haslet, TX.
And their son Lucas Ochs
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters.
Diane Toth and her husband Joe of Oil City
Bill King and his wife Marilyn of Oil City
Steve King and his wife Mia of Apache Junction, AZ.
Judy Groner of Oil City
Frank King and his wife Cindy of Alexandria, VA.
And numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by good friends
Pat and Shirl Joseph of Pittsburgh
And Lucy Stucke of Oil City
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sons
Sean King and Alex King
And his former wife Lori King.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
A Memorial will be held at a later date.
The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Marks wishes were that memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church, 35 Pearl Ave. Oil City, PA. 16301 , earmarked for the construction of a social hall.
