Mary Rhoda (Kaster) Motter

Mary Rhoda Motter, 77, of Oil City, PA., passed away Friday March 13, 2026 at the Caring Place in Franklin.

Born Dec. 25, 1948 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Dolly George Kaster.

Mary was a graduate of Oil City High School and Clarion University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Library Science.

She had been a librarian at Christian Life Academy for many years and had driven school bus in the 1980’s.

Books were a big part of Mary’s life, she enjoyed reading and collecting them.

She loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by two children

Daniel Motter and his wife Annette of Nova Scotia

2 grandchildren

Wyatt and Grace

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Elmer and Larry Kaster.

The Family would like to thank the staff at the Caring Place for the care their mother received.

A Celebration of life will be held at  a later date.

The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
