Matthew J. “Bosco” Hajduk, 89, of Oil City, PA., passed away Friday August 8, 2025 at UPMC-Northwest after an extended illness.
Born August 6, 1936 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late George and Catherine Dyjak Hajduk.
He was a 1954 graduate of Oil City High School.
Mr. Hajduk was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was married on Oct. 20, 1962 to the former Elizabeth E. “Betsy” Barrett and she survives.
Bosco had been a bricklayer for many years and had also been employed by Pennzoil Refinery in Rouseville.
A longtime member of St. Stephens’s Church, he had been attending St. Joseph Church.
Bosco was a member of the PNA, Moose, VFW, Eagles and the YMCA as well as longtime member and officer at the Pulaski Club.
He enjoyed playing basketball for the Y Travelers and was in several leagues and also enjoyed playing softball for over twenty years.

Jane Dick and her husband Tim of Los Angeles, CA.
Angela Jimenez and her husband Rene of N. Ridge, CA.
Emily Hajduk of Atlanta, GA.
9 grandchildren
Zachary, Taylor and Rory McGinnis, Ryan Sylvester, Bridget Hart, Jordan Hill, Andrew and Ethan Jimenez and Elizabeth Dick
4 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The last surviving member of his immediate family , he was preceded in death by brothers Francis, Harry, Stanley, John and Joseph Hajduk and by sisters Cecelia Kerschner, Mary Meyer, Alberta Blauser and Helen Kozyro
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 A.M..
Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
