Matthew M. Sargent Sr., 80, of Rouseville, PA., departed from this world on July 10, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born Sep. 8, 1943, he was the seventh of eight children to the late Carl Sargent Sr. and Mary Coburn Sargent.
His life was a testament of warmth, kindness and unwavering devotion.
For 58 years, Matthew was the beloved husband of Linda G. Sargent and the pillar of strength to his children Matthew Sargent Jr & his wife Kelly of TX. , and Melissa Sargent of Rouseville.
He was a source of endless joy to his grandchildren Elizabeth, Jennifer and Matthew Sargent.
He is also survived by his brother Carl Sargent Jr. of Oil City and by several nieces and nephews
Matthews journey was marked by deep roots in his community and a profound love for those around him. He spent his entire life in the community he called home, touching countless lives with his genuine warmth and infectious smile. Whether sharing stories with friends or offering a helping hand to neighbors, Matthew’s presence lit up the lives of all who knew him.
Throughout his career at Electralloy, spanning over 35 years, Matthew’s dedication and work ethic were unparalleled. His commitment beyond the workplace, as he poured his heart into nurturing his family and building lasting relationships. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life- working in his garden, enjoying the company of his pets, and sharing hearty laughs over family meals.
Matthew’s love for his family knew no bounds. His relationship with Linda was a love story for the ages, a partnership built on mutual respect and unwavering support. He took immense pride in the accomplishments of his children, always there to offer guidance and encouragement. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will endure through generations.
In remembering Matthew, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter and genuine compassion, His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by his kindness and generosity. Though he has left this world, his spirit remains with us- a beacon of love and light.
Matthew was preceded in death by a brother Fred and by sisters Erma Murphy, Candy Delp, Esther Motter, Florence Phenicie and Geraldine Sargent
Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Rouseville Volunteer Fire Dept. or to a humane society of your choice., reflecting Matthew’s deep care for both his community and its creatures.
Matthew M. Sargent’s life was a beautiful melody of love and laughter, and he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and comfort those who carry his memory in their hearts.
