Celebrating the Life of Robert Timothy "Tim" Lux
“The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye, the story of love is hello and goodbye... until we meet again."
— Jimi Hendrix
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Timothy "Tim" Lux. A hard-working, devoted dad, proud paw-paw, loyal brother, fun uncle, partner, Husband, and friend, Tim lived life fully and loved deeply.
A Front-Row Fan for His Family
Family was Tim’s ultimate headliner. During their marriage, Tim and Becky Lux were blessed with "his girls"—his daughter Jenny Lux (and partner Carla Morales) and his daughter Natalie Lander (and husband Marc).
He celebrated every single one of their accomplishments, but it was his granddaughters who truly stole the show. As a relentlessly proud paw-paw to Brooke Elaine, Lauralie Marie, and Deanna Rebecca, he never missed a chance to brag about them to anyone who would listen.
Tim grew up in a large, vibrant family and is survived by his loving siblings:
John “Jack” Lux and his wife Patricia
Herbert “Herbie” Lux
Margaret “Peg” Winger and her husband Gene
David Lux and his wife Pamela
James “Jim” Lux and his wife Dawn Marie
Lawrence “Larry” Lux
Stephen “Steve” Lux and his partner Mary Elizabeth
He also leaves behind many, many beloved nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their fun uncle.
Tim was reunited in peace with those who went before him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Harper Lux and Margaret Dolores Hartle; his sister, Mary Martha Lux; and his brothers, Richard Francis Lux and Donald Charles Lux.
A Legacy of Hard Work and Service
Tim was a man who believed in community and hard work. He dedicated years of service to his community as a volunteer fireman and Assistant Fire Chief at the Reno Volunteer Fire Department. In his professional life, he was a vital part of Pennzoil Refinery, serving as an instrumental member of both the safety and fire teams and as an instrumental leader within the union.
Nature, Golf, and His Faithful Dogs
An avid golfer and former caddy, Tim loved the greens almost as much as he loved his Labrador Retrievers. Over the years, he was inseparable from his faithful dogs—Huck, Dawg Gone, Chief, and his current buddy, Light. One of his absolute favorite ways to spend an afternoon was walking the woods behind Wanango Country Club with his dogs by his side.
Music and Simple Joys
Tim had a deep love for all types of music. His playlist was vast, ranging from the smooth country ballads of Marty Robbins and the timeless harmonies of The Eagles to the legendary guitar genius of Jimi Hendrix. Nothing beat the simple joy of unwinding after a hard day's work with a cold Budweiser and his favorite tunes playing. Though his volume has faded here on earth, the melody of his laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever.
Rock on in peace, Tim. You will be deeply missed.
Details regarding a celebration of life will be shared with close family and friends at a later date. In Tim’s honor, crack open a Budweiser, turn up your favorite song, take a walk in nature, or hug your dog a little tighter today.
