Russell Duane Cress

Russell Duane Cress, 74, of Oil City, PA. , passed away Dec. 27, 2024 at Oil City Healthcare and Rehab.

                Born April 24, 1950 in Butler, PA., he was the son of Dewitt and Annebell Myers Cress.

Russell graduated from High School in Butler.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He received the Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Combat, Infantry Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Bar and the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.

He was a truckdriver for many years lastly working for England Trucking.

He was married to the former Gloria Schwab and she survives.

He is also survived by a daughter Stephanie,

A granddaughter

Haley

And by two sisters,

Diane Riley and Dawna Cress and her significant other Russell Layton

One brother,

Ronald Cress

He was preceded in death by his son Darin Cress

Russell was a member of Christ Lutheran Church

He enjoyed umpiring little league games and bowling.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
