Russell McClellan Obituary

Russell Eugene McClellan, born on March 8, 1958, in Oil City, PA, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2024, following a long illness that he faced with remarkable courage, keeping his full character and strength. Most recently residing in Rouseville, PA, Russell was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Russell was known as a tough man with a soft heart, always ready to lend a hand and give everyone a chance without judgment. His love for dogs, especially his two cherished "dorkie Yorkies," was a testament to his gentle spirit.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching football, singing songs, cracking jokes, and sharing good meals, he was always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.

A proud Navy veteran, Russell dedicated over 20 years as a truck driver for Advantage Tank Lines, hauling hazardous material and he spent eight years running his own bar ‘The Rusty Nail’ in Oil City, PA. His adventurous spirit was evident in his love for hunting and riding his Harley Davidson, as well as his passion for woodworking.

Russell is survived by his loving wife of 45 years who he met in California and married in Reno Nevada, Freda McClellan, and their children, Karl and Alesha Hartsfield, Kimberly and Anthony Hale, and Katie McClellan and Jack W. He was a devoted grandfather to Kyle Horne and his long term girlfriend Kelsey B, Jake, Destiny, Alivia, Jaxson, and Kerraline Hartsfield, and a proud great-grandfather to Kace Russell Hartsfield. He is also survived by his brothers Mike Deeter and Dickie Bryan, sister and brother-in-law Justine and Mike Emert, Uncle Ben McClellan, and 14 nieces and nephews, along with many other distant relatives.

Russell was preceded in death by his father, Charles Bryan; mother, Judy Deeter; grandparents, Glenn and June McClellan; brothers, Jake Deeter, Steve Bryan, and Valerie Bryan; and niece and nephew, Amanda and Bradley Deeter.

His legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by all.

Friends will be received Monday Sept. 9 from 5-6P.M. in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. in the funeral Home.
