Ruth P. (Alabaugh) Donahey

Ruth P. Donahey, 87, a resident of the Marquette Hospice House in Meadville, PA. passed away Sunday July 9, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.

                Born Oct. 20, 1935 in Forest County, PA., she was the daughter of the late Oliver H. Alabaugh and Lillian M. Passauer Alabaugh.

Ruth was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church on German Hill in Tionesta.

She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years at the Oil City Presbyterian Home, prior to retiring.

Mrs. Donahey enjoyed sewing, crocheting, doing crafts, gardening, fishing, cooking and making and decorating cakes.

She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, and going on picnics.

Ruth especially loved spending with her friends, family and grandchildren.

She was married to Ray W. Donahey, who preceded her in  death in 2010.

Surviving are three children;

John W. Donahey of Columbus, OH

Jodi R. Donahey of Oil City, PA.

Jami L. Black of Oil City, PA.

And five grandchildren

Jessica M. Peltz of Hazleton, PA.

Cole R. Donahey and wife Samjhana of Baltimore, MD

Jeffrey E. Karg of State College

Brock D. Karg of State College

And Meagan L. Borland & her husband Zack of Oil City

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie R. Donahey and a son Jeffrey S. Donahey and several brothers and sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Oil City, PA. on July 12, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Foundation or to a Cancer Charity of one’s choice.
