Sophia J. (Smutek) Skiba

Sophia J. Skiba, 87, of Oil City, PA., passed away Dec. 3, 2025 at Oil City Healthcare.

            Born June 15, 1938 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Lisowksi Smutek.

Sophie attended Assumption B.V.M. School and was a graduate of Oil City High School.

She worked in the clerical department at the  Oil City Hospital.

Sophia was a member of St. Joseph Church in Oil City.

She was married to Edward  B. Skiba on June 20, 1998 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2014.

For many years she had worked as a greeter at  the Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home in Titusville.

Sophia is survived  by

one sister

Genevieve Jordan of Henderson, NV

And many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by  brothers Ted Smutek and Walter Smutek and a sister Mary Zagorski

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church on Dec. 20, at 11:30 A.M. with Fr. Daniel Hoffman, Presiding.

Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church Development Fund
