Vicki L. LaVan

Vicki L. LaVan, 65, of Kennerdell, died on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, surrounded by her family.

Born in Grove City on May 13, 1957, she was a daughter to the late Ronald and Nelly Uber Lavan.

Mrs. LaVan graduated from Moniteau High School, class of 1975.

Vicki loved her grandchildren more than anything. She was often seen giving the grandkids rides on her wheelchair. Vicki was happy to help her family if they needed a babysitter. She was always seen smiling around her kids and grandkids.

She was a notary public as well as a math-wiz and could solve any math problem in seconds.

Surviving are Vicki’s two children, Heidi Strange and her husband George, and William Barnett and his significant other Elizabeth Fronce. Step children, Eric Decker, Tommy Decker, and Danny Decker.

Vicki’s partner of over 20 years, Wayne Decker also survives.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Noah Barnett, Nayla Barnett, Zacchaeus Barnett, George Strange IV, David Strange, Sophia Strange, and Jade Hughes. Step grandchildren, Eric Decker, Braylynn Decker, Bristol Decker, Grayson Decker, and Hope Heath.

Many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins survive, as well as special nieces, Jenifer Kellar and Ruth Ann LaVan, and special nephew James LaVan.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, William LaVan, Ronald LaVan, and David Lavan, and a nephew Mike LaVan.

A memorial will be held by the family at a later date.

Memorials can be made in Vicki’s name to the Reinsel Funeral Home to help cover funeral expenses.
