William H. Smith, 87, of Cooperstown, PA., passed away July 31, 2025 at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh after a brief illness.
Born June 13, 1938 in Victory Twp., PA., he was the son of the late Warren and Dorothy VanBrussel Smith.
Bill was a graduate of Victory Joint High School.
He served in the United States Army from Nov. 27, 1961 until he was honorably discharged on Nov. 26, 1963.
Bill was married on July 16, 1966 to Ethel L. Harper and she preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 2006.
Mr. Smith worked at Penndot, where he retired as a Blacktop Inspector.
He was a member of the PA. State Police Association, Cornplanter Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept., the Venango County Fire Police and a former member of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Dept.
Bill enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by three children

Evy L. Welman and her husband Timothy of Corydon, IN.
William G. Smith and his wife Melinda of Salem, WI.
Four grandchildren
Rebecca Lynn Steele and her husband Shawn
Samantha Jo Herrera and her husband Felix
Nicholas Leroy Bean
Delainey Nicole Steinke and her husband Kyle
Four great grandchildren
Steven Tyler Pittman,
Gabriel Isiah Herrera, Emryn Grace Steinke and Elyk Thomas Steinke
And one on the way.
Bill is also survived by three brothers
Howard Smith and Wendell Smith of Oil City
Norman Smith of Plumer
and a sister
Dorothy Smith of Oil City
As well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Donald, Lewis(Woody) and Robert Smith.
Friends will be received on Sunday in the Reinsel Funeral Home from 1-3 and 5-7 P.M.
Friends will also be received from 12 noon-1:00P.M. Monday at Mount Carmel Tabernacle, 128 Wallaceville Rd. Titusville, PA.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M.
Interment will follow in Dempseytown Lutheran Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
